This week, Pete Hegseth told the press that he met with the families of the airmen who died in the tragic KC-135 accident in the Middle East that killed six servicemembers.
“What I heard through tears, through hugs, through strength and through unbreakable resolve was the same from family after family. They said, ‘Finish this. Honor their sacrifice. Do not waver. Do not stop until the job is done,” Hegseth said.
How convenient for the Trump administration that the families of the men who died in their unprovoked, illegal war of choice were so patriotic and supportive of…whatever the mission is supposed to be.
But, as usual, these shameless, disgusting liars are full of sh*t.
Charles Simmons, father of slain airman Tyler Simmons, told NBC News that he never said anything of the sort to Hegseth.
“I can’t speak for the other families. When he spoke to me, that was not something we talked about,” he told NBC News in an interview Thursday.
When asked if he said anything to Hegseth or Trump about the need to keep fighting the war, Simmons said, “No, I didn’t say anything along those lines.”
Trump said the same thing a few weeks ago when the caskets first began to be flown home, carrying the remains of those lost in his war. You will not be surprised to know that he was also lying.
