OSF reportedly sent nearly $3 billion to more than a dozen entities across India. Officials claim that after the Ministry of Home Affairs placed OSF under the prior reference category in 2016, restricting unregulated donations to NGOs, the group set up subsidiaries in India to channel funds as foreign direct investment and consultancy fees, then funneled that money into political and activist activities in clear violation of Indian law.
