The suspicions indicate that the two men were asked to gather information about former Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir. They are also accused of handing over documents containing plans of Israeli aircraft engines, as well as photos of a flight instructor’s face.

Eight other soldiers are suspected of being aware of the pair’s actions without reporting them. Following the incident, the base commander gathered personnel in a security meeting, saying he had been summoned to the offices of the Shin Bet security service for questioning.
