India’s Enforcement Directorate conducted raids at eight locations targeting Open Society Foundations and related entities over allegations of foreign exchange violations and fund misappropriation.
The raids took place Tuesday in Bengaluru at offices of the Open Society Foundations (OSF) and its impact investment arm, the Soros Economic Development Fund (SEDF). According to Indian media reports, the investigation focuses on how Soros-backed entities allegedly bypassed strict regulations under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
International Scrutiny
The raids represent part of a growing international pushback against the network of Soros-backed organizations. In the United States, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and other Republicans continue to scrutinize the expedited approval by the Biden-era FCC that allowed Soros to acquire a major stake in over 200 Audacy radio stations, reaching up to 165 million Americans, weeks before the 2024 election.
Republican FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr has raised serious concerns about the rushed process and the national security implications of excessive foreign ownership in American media.
What This Means
The raids in India send a message that sovereign countries are no longer willing to sit idly by while Soros-funded entities bypass laws and push agendas that benefit globalist elites at the expense of ordinary citizens.
