Sierra straightened immediately.
“I didn’t realize—”
“That I was the CEO?”
“Yes.”
“That’s refreshing.”
The service elevator opened behind her with a soft chime.
Sierra stepped back quickly.
“I really have to go.”
Nathaniel nodded once.
But before the doors shut, he asked softly:
“What’s your name?”
The question hung strangely between them.
As if no important person had asked her that in a very long time.
