Vanessa was Meridian’s Chief Financial Officer.

Nathaniel had never corrected them.
Mostly because he felt nothing at all.
“You seem distracted lately,” she said smoothly.
“I’m listening.”
Nathaniel’s expression cooled.
Vanessa leaned back slowly.
But suspicion flickered in her eyes.
Three days later, Sierra arrived at work and found Zara waiting outside Meridian Tower.
Panic hit instantly.
“What happened?”
Zara’s eyes were red from crying.
“It’s the landlord.”
Sierra’s stomach dropped.
“He changed the locks this morning.”
“What?”
“We’re three months behind.”
